Financial Impact for Tennessee Deltans
The Phi Kappa Psi Foundation is proud to operate one of the most prestigious and recog- nized award programs in the Interfraternal world, the Chapter Scholarship Fund Program. By granting monies from these funds, the Foundation regularly awards Phi Psis who excel in academics, chapter leadership, and campus involvement. These awards continue to underscore the Foundation’s belief that success within the Fraternity and life often reaches beyond the classroom.
Tennessee Delta’s Chapter Scholarship and Grants programs have the capacity to have a tremendous impact on the lives of our brothers. The House Corporation approved at its November meeting a plan to award $50,000 in chapter awards, graduate preparation assistance, need-based grants, and programming assistance. The chapter awards program includes awards to the brothers with a 4.0 GPA. Of the 33 new brothers, 17 received the 4.0 award this semester, including Brendan Jennings and Kyle Chambers.
Tennessee Delta also provides academic awards and assistance to brothers seeking to continue their studies. This funding may cover scholarships for graduate or professional school, including costs for required entrance exams. Samir Mansouri is the first recipient to receive funding for the MCAT exam, necessary for medical school admission.

Hi, my name is Brendan Jennings; I’m a brother of the Phi Kappa Psi Tennessee Delta Chapter at Vanderbilt. I want to thank you so much for the opportunity to join the brotherhood and receive scholarships like the H. Fort Flowers Leadership Excellence Award for a 4.0 GPA. Phi Kappa Psi has meant so much to me and its inherent brotherhood. It has gotten me so much closer with so many of my friends on a social and emotional level, and I feel like it has done a lot for my character development as I move out of my house and become an independent adult. Phi Kappa Psi has done a lot to teach me many essential life skills, and I find those invaluable.
A little about me: I am a junior at Vanderbilt studying applied math, computer science, and business. I am heavily involved on campus in several organizations, most importantly Phi Kappa Psi and a business Greek orga- nization called Phi Chi Theta, of which I am a founding member and President. I am also involved in the club volleyball team.
I really appreciate this award of $500, which will go a long way for me as I study abroad next semester in Madrid, Spain, at an engineering school. The award will help me with the cost of flights and exploring Europe to gain worldly expe- riences. I am super appreciative.

Hello, fellow brothers, alumni, and friends of Phi Kappa Psi. My name is Kyle Chambers, I am from Cypress, Texas, and I am part of the Tennessee Delta Chapter at Vanderbilt University. I think the day I knew I really wanted to become a Phi Kappa Psi, which was probably one of the most important days of my life and one of the best decisions I ever made; I was with fellow members of my pledge class and current members out bowling. It was a great time, and ever since then, it has been a blast.
Phi Kappa Psi has instilled morals, lessons and great times with me that are going to last a lifetime, and I can’t be thankful enough for that. I will use this award to get home for Christmas break to see my friends and family, for which I am extremely thankful. I want to give a huge thank you to everyone involved, and I hope that I continue to do well to receive the award again.

Hi, Phi Psi alumni, scholarship commit- tees, and all the generous donors. My name is Samir Mansouri, and I am the former Vice President of the Tennessee Delta Chapter at Vanderbilt University. I am majoring in neuroscience and on the pre-med track. Thank you profusely for your generous contribution, which will allow me to take the MCAT exam in April.
When I entered college, I was not inter- ested in joining a fraternity; however, when I learned about the TN Delta colony and the national Phi Psi orga- nization, the Phi Psi mission, and what Phi Psi stands for and what it values, I was inspired to learn more about the organization and later to join the organization. When I met the founding members of the colony, I was inspired not only to join the organization but to leave a positive impact. The rechar- tering of Tennessee Delta is the most significant accomplishment of my vice presidency, and something I will always remember and cherish. It was an incredible moment.
I deeply appreciate all of you for assist- ing me to follow my dreams of going to medical school. This award is tremendous because it allows me to take the MCAT exam without worrying about financial obligations. Still, it also helps me set my timeline and schedule for studying, assembling materials, and preparing for the test. Being a recipient of an award like this inspires me because I want to give back to my community, similar to what you have done for me. I hope I can one day pay for another student’s MCAT exam.
