Tennessee Delta packs the Chapter House after 15 years
For the first time in more than 15 years, the annual Phi Kappa Psi Founders Day Banquet took place at the Chapter House. The room, sometimes known as the Living Room and sometimes as the Chapter Room, was filled. About 50 of the 70 student members were in attendance, a solid number, given that Vanderbilt has instituted a spring semester abroad for juniors, which many actives took advantage of.
Tennessee Delta and the alumni attracted the fourth Phi Psi National President in the last ten years to serve as the Guest Speaker. Former SWGP Bob Marchesani (also former president of the North American Interfraternity Conference, the UN of fraternities) focused on the broader world of Phi Psi beyond individual chapters, a message of great importance to new members who have not yet had the opportunity to interact with the red and green world outside their own chapter.
It was especially gratifying to have several alumni from other chapters who have moved to Middle Tennessee in attendance at the celebration. The House Corporation’s efforts to make Founders Day appealing to non-Tennessee Deltans have begun to pay off. We want all Phi Psi’s to feel welcomed at Tennessee Delta.
